It's been a long time since I've planned to restart my web site with a new domain and design. Not to mention the content management system and the organization of the information. I was actually pissed at my former site so much that I really wanted to start it from scratch again.
So now this site is under a brand new domain (jordan.dichev.net) which I find more descriptive, easier to read, and less dot-com sounding.
Another thing is the content management system. It is a custom made by myself and based on the Zend Framework and called 'Publicada'. That's a code-name for now and maybe it will remain as I like it for it's simplicity and not really belonging to any language in particular. If this CMS reaches a poin of really good quality, I really would like to release it for more people to be able to use it.
There is nothing special about the organization of the content that I use now. Again there are pages and posts, links and files, categories and (not yet) tags. Just that I think with Publicada, I will have more freedom to tweak stuff on my website compared to mainstream Word Press. Also I prefer to follow my way of thinking.
I wish this site has a better future that the old one that was short in good content and except for some links and comments was blank and boring. Lets hope for the best.
A little bit of history
This should be the fifth or sixth version of this site that makes to online. Several others were created and eventually dropped before seeing day light. Some of the versions I lost. I guess this site will always be some kind of work in progress after all.
It all started in 2004 when I bought the jordandichev.com domain and decided to use this place for communication with friends trough the WordPress blog I installed then.
Then a new version came and everything old was wiped out - this was repeated several times since, this being the last one I hope to start from the very beginning.
